how come Saturn represents alcohol, Abuse, dirty places and things, lies, lack of resources and frustration.
yet at the same time Saturn is lord of justice, represents righteousness, Equalizer and favours hard work. How??

To judge the KARAKATWA s of a particular planet we should remember the Trigunas i.e Satvwa,Rajas and Tamas.
The pujya Navagrahas that we pray to, are the highest and ideal forms of a particular energy. When we learn the best use or best form of that energy, then we resonate at those levels of perfection.
When the same energy falls down to lower levels (due to poor aachar, vichar)Â it can show up as unexpected behaviors, unwanted people or bad blockages in life. This is the concept that was taught in badhak course.

I would like to add very very simple observation for your question. Imagine my mind is most peaceful in the universe and suddenly someone abuses me and at that exact moment that same mind flips because of my reaction and my same mind becomes the tool for other mental issues.
