There is much much deeper meaning in that, fast is not just of food or even thoughts. It is of everything you know as your “own”. You must end your duality, your identity, your every essence you know as human being for atleast that day. Than ofcourse as krishna promises, slowly it will get destroyed.
That’s right mam, it mitigates as well as controls sins. Every ekadashi has a short and sweet story with deep meaning. Please also chant Vishnu Sahasranaam on this day. Chart improves a lot.
However, some amount of Prarabdh each person will have to experience/suffer it out, depending on severity of sins. But when Jupiter increases in chart, he will ensure that at least we have enough wisdom and self awareness to not repeat them. Regards.
thank you but what if a person fasts continuously for 3 years then?
You can do fast until you are alive but in last part of life you can do udhyapan which means now you have completed the vrat and you are ready to arrive. When you have no Karma and desire. You will be called for eternal abode of god – Vaikuntha. Hari Hari.
what I meant was fasting on every ekadashi for 3 years
ekdashi fast ka itna mahat hai ki us din chawal bhi koi na khaye to thoda punay mil jata to jo fast krta use to milega hi
koi koi nirjal ekdasi krte hai koi mitha khata hai…
ek kewal.puri dham me is din chawal ya waha ka prasad khaya jata hai to bahut punay milta hai
yes it has deeper meaning ,on my personal experience lots of health issue got solved . Fasting can give much more effect on physical,mental level.Also by this you directly or indirectly helping the nature by saving the food .Not everyone on earth has ability to do fast.
