Strictly speaking, manglik dosh comes from Mangal or Mars. Again, as per rules, if Mars is placed in house number 12/1/2/4/7/8 then it creates mangalik dosh.
Basically, the concept is that Mars placed in houses of sexuality, marriage, family / in-laws causes a difficult married life experience for the native. LEVEL of difficulty and TYPE of difficulty varies and has to be analysed before being afraid of mangalik yoga.
Now practically, other malefics like Saturn or Ketu can also cause difficult experience in married life. Hence we need to understand mangalik dosh conceptually and expand its application rather than strictly considering the written rule, which is more like an example.
