In Sagittarius ascendant sun becomes the trikon lord . Trikon lord is more powerful than the third.as I read somewhere that aspect depends on their activation time . Here on my understanding Sun won’t be malefic.

you are absolutely correct , sun will not act as a malefic in Sagittarius asc . being the lord of 9th house Sun will give very splendourous results , first massive result of sun will be in 16-17 age .
