Weak Saturn

Throughout my life I’ve been suffering from laziness/procrastination, inconsistency, weak will power, etc. such issues. I’ve always wanted to change these ill-habits of mine and often tried as well but to no avail. I’ve tried doing so many things but nothing seems to work. It appears to me as if I’m cursed to remain like this for my entire life. If I were opposite of the qualities that I have mentioned my life would have been completely different from what it is now.

My purpose of asking this question today is to seek any valuable guidance from learned people here who are willing to share most simple, easy and effective advice/remedy/answer to help rectify my behaviour.

to ye hai to light band kro aur apne room me apne vajan ka gangajl rkho

  2. There can be many magic remedies involving stones, chants, and yantras etc for this, but is that really the purpose behind your soul choosing this life? Your soul has chosen this so that it can learn something and go closer to god through that path.

The only obstacle in leaving bad habits is that we don’t see them as “bad” and we don’t see them as “habits”. We see them as “good choices” or “best available choices”. You may have touched a burning coal once or eaten mud once, but you wouldn’t do that after knowing it can burn you or make you fall sick. Once you REALLY SEE that fire can burn you, falling from heights can bruise you, etc., then you’re careful the next time… so we get hurt as children but keep the lesson till death. If you have already REALLY SEEN laziness as a bad habit, then you know what to do.

How to overcome laziness? Any “action” or “outcome” is just the final conclusion of a sequence of mental justifications or patterns and decisions. We can fight with the “outcome” as much as we want, but cannot change the outcome without changing those mental patterns. So it’s really simple – just take a step back from your “self” and observe. Don’t become engrossed with the thoughts and lose your identity separate from the thoughts. Then, just watch. You’ll see the pattern. If you know that the pattern is not good, then simply stop letting it repeat. You will have to put effort in doing this and do it continuously for the initial 2 days, then the frequency with which you do this will reduce and reduce till it’s no more needed. That’s it. Like when a mother is watching her child, she is just watching – but the child doesn’t do anything wrong simply because he knows that the mother is watching.
Like this we can let go of laziness, and everything else… just by REALLY SEEING.

This is how Shivji burnt down even Kaamdev, just by really seeing him.

I don’t suggest doing remedies because this is not really what they are for…

Still, if you really need them:

recite hanuman chalisa every morning (has to be recited with the vigour and force which suits hanumanji, just starting 2 lines should heat your body up)

wake up in the morning and exercise, and include bhastrika pranayam (properly, with proper guidance from a guru or good YouTube teacher) if medically permitted to do (you can check that online from a good website). Also include 7 or more surya namaskar (subject to same conditions as above).

offer water to surya dev with a small pinch of kumkum and honey/sugar (stop adding kumkum after 21 days. You can stop sooner if you have verbal fights. Ego clash or fight will happen initially when you do this remedy) as early after sunrise as possible (after bathing) (but before 9:30 AM) from a copper lota.
